WARNING: Ransomware published on GitHub issue
I recently saw a post about a user having their files encrypted. The original post along with my and OP’s comments is here for more context: https://www.reddit.com/r/linux4noobs/s/LlTlMJffRo
The relevant package (You must NOT download or install this) was uploaded in a GitHub issue, advertised as a “FreeRDP PPA with full PulseAudio and smartcard support”. I haven’t verified what it does yet, I’ll reverse engineer it in the meantime.
For users, do NOT install this PPA in your system. It is reported to be ransomware.
