organised by the Centre for Enterprise Development (CED), said they are looking forward to applying the information learnt to their businesses, and to transfer this knowledge.
On November 4 and 5 2025, at Frenches House, Kingstown, 15 women and four males were engaged in workshop sessions which is part of the ‘Unlocking Opportunities Through Climate Change Initiatives’ (UOCCI) project, funded by the Organization of American States (OAS), through its Development Cooperation Fund (DCF), in the sum of US$125,000. It is being implemented under the OAS/DCF 2024-2027 programming cycle to support, recognize and foster the contributions of women and undeserved communities to create more inclusive and effective approach to climate action that benefits everyone.
Farmer, Vergel Browne, one of the participants in the workshop shared with SEARCHLIGHT why she got involved.
“Being a farmer and with all that is happening around the farms these days…you hear about climate change…the rainfall is different, the length of sunshine is different, everything is different”, Browne said.
“This workshop will help me in many ways”, she added.
