The wrong landing zone can really scupper your chances of a win.
REDSEC is Battlefield 6’s offering ot the battle royale genre, and features several squads battling it out as a ring of fire slowly engulfs the map. To stay clear of the flames and a step ahead of your enemies, the right drop point can make a huge difference to how your game plays out.

Downtown/Boutique District
Downtown and Boutique District are right on top of each other, and both are dense, high-loot areas. We are talking about a lot of small buildings here, with the potential for a lot of room-to-room fighting. Fortunately, most players seem to prefer not dropping here, despite the readily available loot, because things can get wild pretty quickly, and the tight spaces mean it’s easy enough to get third-partied. It’s a risky spot, but it pays off more often than it punishes.
Marina
If you really like a quiet life to start, then Marina is a solid drop. I’d describe the loot as being a little on the scarce side, but your competition for it should be effectively zero. It seems to have developed a bit of a reputation as the boring drop, but if you like to let the early firefight fans clear each other out while you loot up in peace, it’s a solid drop. The downside is that you are likely to get pushed inland reasonably quickly, so don’t delay.
Golf Course
People who love an early firefight and a roll of the dice should land at Golf Course. Honestly, the loot here is not the most dense on the map, but it has already become the designated hotdrop for those who seek instant action. Honestly, dropping here feels more fun than smart, but if you want to get right into it, lots of other folks will land here and be willing to engage in a few firefights with you.
Chemical Storage
This area has plenty of loot, but you really want to get here first. Because the area is so vertical, it’s pretty easy to be a menance to other teams who are still stuck with starting pistols while you are comfortably high with early AR grabs. If you are an old-time Battlefield fan and miss those Close Quarters days from Battlefield 3, you might just find paradise here.
Combat Training
This area is a little slept on in my opinion. It can result in a slow start as it is not a popular drop, but the high loot density and low competition mean you are likely to get good gear early. It is a little out of the way, but at least it puts you in a comfortable spot where you can be reasonably sure that no threat is going to roll in behind you.
I’ll be updating this article with more solid drop spots for different styles of play as time goes on, and as updates and rebalances impact the map, so check back often for more information. Be sure to read over our Battlefield 6 Strategy Guide for more helpful guides on REDSEC.
