Collecting all the items you need to fulfill the Expedition requirements in ARC Raiders ensures you’re always ready when it’s time to reset your account for unique and permanent rewards.
Expeditions are ARC Raiders’ take on resetting your account, also called a wipe or a prestige. The mechanic is a core tenet of progression in extraction shooters, and ARC not only has a lengthy list of requirements but also offers some solid rewards for completing them. Here’s how it all works.
How Expeditions work
100,000 Coin worth of Survival items (Shields, Meds, etc.) 180,000 Coin worth of Provision items (Nature items, Valuables, Keys, etc.) 300,000 Coin worth of Materials (Recyclable Items, etc.) | |
| Stage 6: Departure | No required items, but the Expedition Departure Window must be active. |
Items you turn in to progress your Expedition are gone forever, so you’ll need to be careful about exhausting your resources for future raiding.
Once you reach the sixth and final stage of your Expedition Project, you’ll need to wait for the Expedition Departure Window. As of the launch of the game, the first Departure Window is coming in December 2025.

Choosing to depart on your Expedition during the Departure Window resets almost your entire account, meaning** you’ll need to reacquire your items, complete quests again, and start most other progression tasks over from the beginning**.
You do get to keep some things, so here’s a full list of what does and does not reset when you depart on your Expeditions:
| What You Lose and Keep After Expeditions | What Resets at Expedition | What You Keep After Expedition |
|---|---|---|
| All Stash upgrades All Inventory items All collected Blueprints All Coins in your bank All earned player levels (you reset back to level one) All spent Skill Points Your Raider Den All Workshop upgrades All complete quests | All Unlocked maps All unlocked Workshop stations All unlocked Codex entries All Raider Tokens All earned Cred All Raider Deck progress Your place on active Leaderboards Any active Trials All earned or purchased Cosmetics Any Personal Event progress Any bonus Skill Points earned from Expeditions Any bonus Stash Slots earned from Expeditions |
The Expedition Departure Window lasts seven days after the roughly eight-week preparation period expires. That gives you a small grace period to decide whether you want to depart or collect the final items you’re still missing.
Why you should complete Expeditions

Proceeding on an Expedition is a big decision, but you won’t come out of it empty-handed. You get a healthy amount of rewards for doing so, including, as listed above, additional Skill Points and Stash Inventory slots. Based onthe ARC Raiders blog on Expeditions, you can expect the following for resetting your account:
-
Permanent account unlocks for each completed Expedition
-
Unique cosmetic rewards for each completed Expedition
-
Account “buffs” that are applied for the duration of the following Expedition cycle
-
And sequential completions of the Expedition Project increase the magnitude of these buffs, up to a limit.

The in-game description of Expedition rewards states that you can also expect XP boosts, more upgrade materials from Scrappy, better weapon repairs, and so on. These bonuses are only active for one Expedition period, and you’d need to complete the cycle again to get them back (or whatever similar rewards come with future Expeditions).
Beyond the cosmetics and other permanent unlocks, choosing to go on an Expedition is a fantastic way to breathe life back into ARC Raiders if you’ve done everything in the game. And even if you collect everything you need for the first Departure Window, you’ll have a continuing long-term goal.

Rewards from the Expeditions are unlikely to ever come from any other source, meaning we’ll hopefully never see them in the in-game store, as Deck rewards, or items you can loot in a raid. They become badges of honor — or perseverance — you can show off to other players you encounter in raid. What exactly they’ll think of you is another matter.
Whether you go on an Expedition to reset your account is, again, entirely optional. If you like having easy access to everything via crafting and not needing to go out of your way for quests, there’s nothing forcing you to wipe with the Expedition system. There will still be in-game events and other limited-time activities to keep things fresh if you’d prefer that route.

John’s been gaming for almost 30 years, starting with Super Mario 64, but his first real love is Final Fantasy. Or Armored Core, depending on how he slept last night. If you want to know where to find an item in a massive open world or how to beat a boss, he can help. They’ve probably kicked his teeth in a few times already. You can normally find him eyes deep in the latest FromSoftware game if he isn’t doing dailies in the half-dozen live service games he plays. He can be found on BlueSky.
