The global deep-tech landscape is both vibrant and ever-evolving. If you want a career in this space, it is critical that you stay on top of advancements, making use of opportunities to learn and upskill. So, with that in mind, here is a list of some of the globe’s most interesting free online deep-tech courses, for you to avail of.
UiPath
The Automation Developer Professional Training course, run online by UiPath, has a curriculum for those aiming to develop their automation building skills. The 80 hour, free online course is continuously open and will give students an education in building enterprise level automations, using frameworks, robotic enterprise frameworks, advanced UI automation and data manipulation, orchestrator triggers, AI computer vision and remote debugging, among other topics.
The course is aimed at both current professionals as well as lifelong learners and can be undertaken in the students own time. A certificate will be made available once the course has been completed and the programme is in the English language.
Great Learning Academy
For beginners or those looking to cement their foundational skills, Great Learning Academy has an ideal course for developing early-level skills titled Introduction to Deep Learning. The nearly 5 and a half hour course, which is free and aimed at beginners, will cover topics such as the history of deep learning, machine learning, key terminology and the fundamentals. Tutorials will be available via video format permanently and a certificate will be awarded upon completion of the course.
For those who wish to progress after the course has finished, there are various gateways provided through Great Learning Academy’s platform, for intermediate and advanced learners, with free and paid options, depending on your budget. A number of career routes open to people upskilling in this area include data Scientist machine learning engineer, research scientist and artificial Intelligence engineer, according to the Academy.
Exponential Science Academy
Exponential Science Academy, an online learning resource, has a number of free courses open to deep tech learners. Registration is free and once you have signed up you have access to the platform’s educational materials. No prior technical experience is needed, courses are suited to students, professionals and academics and topics include DLT tokenisation, an introduction into AI and quantum computing.
The tutorials are roughly 30 minutes long, and are run by AI avatars of the platform’s founders, prof Paolo Tasca and prof Nikhil Vadgama, who bring years of academic and industry expertise in emerging technologies. At the end, students can access a certificate of completion, to mark the achievement.
Coursera
Coursera is offering the Nvidia: Fundamentals of Deep Learning course, which is a free three hour programme taught in English and Spanish. The intermediate level course will explore topics such as the foundations of deep learning and advanced deep learning techniques.
The Nvidia: Fundamentals of Deep Learning Course is the second course in the exam prep for Nvidia-Certified Generative AI LLMs Associate specialisation and it will introduce learners to core deep learning concepts and techniques, building on foundational machine learning principles.
This course is designed for those aiming to enhance their skills in deep learning, particularly in the area of generative AI models and LLMs. Coursera states it is ideal for AI practitioners, data scientists and machine learning engineers who want to master deep learning concepts.
