In recent years, PlayStation maker Sony has consistently released its console exclusives on Windows PC — Valve’s PC gaming platform Steam, specifically — months or years after their initial launch on PS5, bringing its titles to a wider audience and generating many additional sales. One such game is Stellar Blade, the debut action RPG from developer SHIFT UP that first released on PS5 in 2024, then came to PC this year in June.

Most PlayStation games that come to Steam are very successful, and Stellar Blade is no different. A new earnings report from SHIFT UP notes that the game has “maintained strong sales momentum even in its fourth month after launch” on the platform, and that “combined sales across PC and PS5 platforms met internal expectations” in 2025’s third quarter.

“To further enhance brand recognition and boost sales, we plan to carry out various promotional activities and are considering additional platform expansions to make accessible to more players,” wrote the developer. “Through upcoming seasonal and holiday promotions across both PC and PS5 platforms, we look forward to engaging an even broader global audience.”

Naturally, that bit about “considering additional platform expansions” begs the question: which platforms may Stellar Blade expand to, in the future? One strong possibility seems to be Nintendo Switch 2, with SHIFT UP telling PlayForum (per VGC) that it was “reviewing various possibilities internally” earlier this year.

Another, of course, is Microsoft’s Xbox consoles, including the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. There was a time when I’d dismiss the notion considering the fact that Sony almost never ports its PlayStation console exclusives to Xbox, but that changed in August with the release of Helldivers 2 on the platform.

Helldivers 2 had an Xbox launch so popular that it briefly crashed the game’s servers, ended up taking the top spot on the Xbox Store at the start of September, and has remained a “huge success” ever since. Evidently, Sony saw the popularity and sales of Xbox games like Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation, decided to dip its toes in the multiplatform waters with Helldivers, and was greatly rewarded for it.

Granted, the most successful multiplatform games are multiplayer titles, and while Stellar Blade *is *widely liked, I’d say it’s clear that overall interest in Helldivers 2 is much higher. Even though it won’t reach the same heights as Arrowhead Game Studios’ co-op shooter, however, I believe it’s likely Sony and PlayStation see the potential for good sales from an Xbox release of the action RPG.

Thus, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Stellar Blade come to Microsoft’s consoles at some point, even if I’d say a Switch 2 port is *more *likely given that we know SHIFT UP was considering it shortly after the game’s PC launch. Ultimately, though, only time will tell what happens, as nothing has been confirmed.

Many Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 users will undoubtedly want to wait to see if Stellar Blade does eventually come to their platform of choice, though if you have a capable gaming PC, getting the Steam version to take advantage of PC-specific features like ultrawide monitor support, the availability of performance-enhancing Super Resolution technologies, and uncapped framerates, among others.

Notably, this edition of the title is actually on sale right now for some sizable discounts, with the $60 regular version of Stellar Blade going for just $42.19 at Loaded (formerly CDKeys) and the $80 Complete Edition with all of its DLC selling for $56.79 at Loaded. There’s a deal for the PS5 version as well that knocks it down to $51.99 at Amazon.
