(Another) New Beginning
Here I am restarting my blog yet again!
I was told to clean up my internet presence if I had a job working with children. Don’t swear, don’t post anything unless it’s positive, don’t say anything controversial, etc. Kind of irks me since I doubt any of the parents of said kids would find this site... But to be fair it needed to be cleaned up and polished anyway. Most of my now deleted posts are just me complaining about kind of pointless things. Which I geuss is what microblogging and short forms encorage. But sometimes negative things need to be said, y’know? Although i need to work on keeping some things private, people should be made aware of others. Life ain’t all sunshine and rainbows kids...

The reason I tried to go down the microblog route was that no matter how hard I try my wording just sounds odd, and gets odder the more I write. Could be just me seeing that, but either way it didn’t fix it. And also... Long forms require you to go on and on about something your’re passionate about. So while I do have hobbies and things I love doing, the truth is I really don’t know much in the grand scheme of things, and what I do know is likely wrong and I’ll get flamed over it.
Another intresting challenge with leaving mainstream social media behind is everyone sees your website. I’ve been being less of a NEET for the past while and making friends IRL, which is good on it’s face but I can’t tell them everything my internet friends know about me, out of fear of being ostracized... I used to be able to keep my irl friends just on facebook and in person, then my internet friends on discord and instagram. but fully committing to the indieweb, I need to mind my p’s and q’s, both to not drive away customers and not lose friends. But how do I strike that ballance to not make this site feel not so corporate and sanitized and mOdErN?
But I’m fully committed to the indieweb momement, and this site is very special to me because of all the effort i put into it, so I’m not gonna do a Psychool and up and vanish. It’s my hope that i made this site simple enough that I can continue to upload to it and update it even if life picks up :> 2/19/25 9:23 PM CST
