This past November, we were honored to welcome philosopher, film/new media scholar, and curator, Laura U. Marks, for our Speaking of Media Series (co-sponsored by the Tishman Environment & Design Center and Code as a Liberal Art). In case you missed it, a recording of her talk, “Small Files for a Small World and Talismanic Media,” is available to view below, compressed down to a teeny-tiny bitrate (under 1.44 megabytes per minute) in recognition of the environmental impact of streaming media and in the spirit of her the Small File Media Festival that Dr. Marks founded (“Because online video is killing the planet . . .”).
