Atrial fibrillation, also known as AF or Afib, is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases. In fact, one in three individuals can expect to be diagnosed with the condition, which increases the risk of serious complications such as heart failure and stroke.

Despite significant advances in the treatment of atrial fibrillation, a new study from Aalborg University shows that social inequities in survival have remained virtually unchanged over the past 20 years.
