How KiwiNotes helps you remember words

KiwiNotes is built around three simple learning principles: active recall, spaced reinforcement, and focused review. Together, they help you move words from short-term memory into long-term memory.

1. Active recall (writing & quizzes) When you use typing, fill-in-the-blank, and matching tests, you are forced to actively recall the word instead of just recognising it. This makes each correct answer much more powerful for your memory.

2. Spaced reinforcement (review over time) KiwiNotes encourages you to review in short sessions instead of cramming. Words appear again over time, especially the ones you struggled with, so you can reinforce them before you forget.

3. Focused review (weak words first) After each session, KiwiNotes tracks which cards you got wrong and highlights weak words. This lets you spend more time on what you don’t know yet, instead of repeating what you already remember.
