“Crime in the United States is at its lowest levels on record,” Mr. Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Much of that is attributable to the most successful Southern Border operation in history. Also, there are more people working in the U.S. today than EVER before. MAGA!!!”
In another post, he said tariffs are “creating GREAT WEALTH, and unprecedented National Security in the USA.”

The president has maintained that the country is being taken advantage of by other countries because of tariffs placed on the U.S. He has placed tariffs on over 90 nations.
He said in his address to the nation last week that the country “made a lot more money than anybody thought because of tariffs.”
However, the use of sweeping tariffs like Mr. Trump’s has been questioned. The Supreme Court heard oral arguments last month over his tariffs, but a decision isn’t expected until 2026.
Affordability has been a big concern for Americans. An NBC News poll released earlier this month found that 42% of voters have a negative view of the economy.
The president has also railed against crime in cities across the U.S. He has sent National Guard troops to several cities, including Washington, Los Angeles and Chicago, among others.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have been sent into cities to crack down on illegal immigration. There have been protests across the country because of ICE in American cities, spurring Mr. Trump’s decision to send the National Guard.
The Supreme Court ruled earlier this week that Mr. Trump overstepped his powers when he tried to federalize and send National Guard troops to Chicago. The decision could threaten the moves he has made in other cities.
“Thus, at least in this posture, the Government has not carried its burden to show that [the law] permits the President to federalize the Guard in the exercise of inherent authority to protect federal personnel and property in Illinois,” the court said.
Democrats have railed against the deployment of troops to American cities.
“It’s long past time for the Trump Administration to back off Chicago. The majority of Americans believe they’ve gone too far, and even the Supreme Court’s conservative supermajority refused to greenlight this blatantly unlawful overreach,” Democratic Illinois Sens. Richard J. Durbin and Tammy Duckworth said in a statement after the ruling.
