Past Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’s Update 11, which has added long-awaited content and tweaks to the game, the battle against Tyranids and Chaos continues, so we’re taking a look at what’s coming with Patch 12 when it arrives.

Space Marine 2 Patch 12.0 Release Date

• Patch 12.0 for Space Marine 2 will release in late February across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

In late August 2025, we learned about the meaty Year 2 content plans for WH40K: Space Marine 2, which are roughly defined until Q2 2026. As part of the roadmap, which we’re resharing below, Patch 12 has been teased as the first major update of 2026.

Space Marine 2 Patch 12.0 Content

We have the rough outline from the aforementioned roadmap and January 29’s Community Update for Space Marine 2’s Update 12. The highlight is the introduction of an all-new Space Marine class, but it’s packing more heat than that:

• New PvE mission: Disruption
• Techmarine class
• Techmarine weapon: Omnissian Axe
• Stratagems: New battlefield conditions
• Voice pack DLC
• New Year Pass content: Raven Guard Champion Pack & Carcharodons Cosmetic Pack

On November 25, buried deep inside Patch 11’s patch notes, it was confirmed the Tactical and Vanguard classes will obtain better “sandbox gameplay” in the future, though those tweaks won’t arrive in Update 12, as the team’s choosing to focus on the new Techmarine class for now.

Of course, expect more tweaks, fixes, and balance updates to arrive alongside Patch 12 and the premium Year Pass cosmetics based on player feedback and all the content introduced with the late-November Update 11. The final 2025 Community Update also shed some light on what’s coming next and into the future, but we’re still waiting for the finalised details on Update 12.

Space Marine 2 Techmarine Class

On January 26, 2026, Saber finally unveiled the first proper look at the upcoming Techmarine class, complete with a handful of gameplay videos and details on what makes these warriors special. On top of everything, the new PTS patch notes for 12.0 were released. This preceeds the regular release of the next content update.

The Techmarine is described as a “specialist in crowd control and zoning” with mixed abilities and a “slight melee bias.” Unlike the Bulwark, these soldiers focus on pressure and wide AoE attacks. His unique abilities are the Servo-Gun, which unleashes “a powerful volley on nearby enemies” and activating Tarantual Sentry Guns scattered across the levels.

The Techmarine has access to the following weapons:

• Auto Bolt Rifle
• Bolt Rifle
• Heavy Bolt Rifle
• Occulus Bolt Carbine
• Plasma Incinerator

Secondary Weapons:

• Bolt Pistol
• Heavy Bolt Pistol
• Plasma Pistol

• Neo-Volkite Pistol

Melee Weapons:

• Combat Knife
• Power Sword
• Power Axe
• Omnissian Axe (exclusive, wide AoE attacks)
