I read about the tourist in DMK which were not able to proof 20k THB to immigration officer and got denied entry.

Anyone in similar situation and how to deal with it?

It seems to be the law, but wondering if you could get ATM money before or even after immigration is enough? I mean, even it is the law, why would I bring 600$ USD into the country, just to exchange it for a fee, when I can withdraw it?

I understand, you should have liquid cash, but I want to withdraw over time and don’t want to stash it in the hotel.
