Install the App

Scour works in any web browser, but you can also install it as an app on your phone, tablet, or computer. Installing gives you a home-screen icon and a full-screen, app-like experience without the browser toolbars in the way.

Scour is a Progressive Web App (PWA), so you install it straight from your browser. There is nothing to download from an app store, and it stays up to date automatically.

On a phone or tablet, an install prompt usually appears at the bottom of the screen the first time you visit. You can also install Scour manually at any time using the steps below.

On iPhone or iPad

These steps use Safari, but Chrome, Edge, and Firefox work too: on each one, you'll find Add to Home Screen in the Share menu.

1. Open scour.ing in Safari.
2. Tap the Share button.
3. Tap Add to Home Screen.
4. Tap Add to confirm. Scour shows up on your home screen like any other app.

On Android

1. Open scour.ing in Chrome.
2. Tap the menu in the top right.
3. Tap Install app or Add to Home screen.
4. Follow the prompt to confirm.

On your computer

You can install Scour in Chrome, Edge, or another Chromium-based browser.

1. Open scour.ing.
2. Click the install icon at the right edge of the address bar. If you do not see it, open the browser menu and look for Install Scour.
3. Click Install to confirm. Scour opens in its own window and you can launch it like any other app.

Tips

• Don't see the install option? On iPhone and iPad it lives in the Share menu; on Android and a computer it's in the browser menu.
• The first time you open the installed app, sign in if you're prompted. After that, it keeps you signed in.
• To remove Scour, press and hold its icon on a phone or tablet (or right-click it on a computer) and choose Remove or Uninstall.
